FAQ

What is the strawmap?

A single page that puts every planned flooor upgrade — the improvements people actually touch, and the listings the auction runs on — on one timeline. It exists so a change in one layer can be read against everything it depends on, instead of living in a separate thread.

Who is this for?

Holders, bidders, collection creators, and anyone building on top of the flooor contract. It is dense on purpose. If you just want to bid, sign, and claim, go to flooor.fun; the documentation covers the mechanics.

What is shipping next?

What do the columns represent?

Stages, not dates. Cobalt is stage 1 and the one column that is already being built. What is live today isn't on the map — the map is what comes next.

The month band running between the two layers is the earliest a stage could land if everything goes right. Only the near ones carry a month — past those, a date would be invention rather than information. It is a reading aid either way: the market cap is still what opens the column.

Everything after Cobalt is gated on protocol market cap rather than a quarter: the $5M, $10M, $100M, $1B+ and $1T+ columns unlock when flooor reaches that market cap. The figure under each one is what a single flooor is worth at that level — $1M of market cap is a $200 flooor, and it scales from there. Each one is a bigger surface to pay for and a bigger vault to defend, so the scope inside it is sized to what the protocol can carry at that point.

What do the rows and colors represent?

Upgrades are grouped into two layers: improvements (I) and listings (L). Dark boxes are headliners and dashed boxes are offchain work. Two bands sit outside the timeline, under the map: the north stars (E — ethereum), and the tasks (T).

Stages run left to right, and an arrow marks a box that builds on the one to its left. Anything to the right of Cobalt is scope, not schedule.

What are headliners?

The one upgrade per layer that a release is actually about. Capping it at one keeps the cadence honest: a release ships when its three headliners are done, and smaller items ride along if they are ready.

Who fills the daily vault?

The vault is fed by the 5% royalty on every sale, and split among everyone who signs that day. The plan is that anyone can also sponsor a day — top up a chosen day's vault directly, with the day showing who funded it and for how much.

No sponsor has signed up yet, and sponsored days are not live.

What is in the last column?

The furthest things the protocol could pay for. At $1T+ the vault is holding a century of daily flow rather than a season's, and the column asks what a floor that large is actually good for: nounfusor — deuterium fusion reactor infrastructure for everyone.

It is deliberately far out. That is what the last column is for.

What are the north stars?

Five listings, in order of how hard they are to earn. None of them carries a date, and none of them is promised — each one is a collection that has to want a daily floor, and a protocol big enough to be worth saying yes to.

1. Ethereum mainnet: the auction contract deployed on L1, next to the collections flooor wants. Base stays the cheap default; L1 is where the blue chips already sit.
2. Nouns: a flooor for nouns.wtf, running beside the DAO's own one-Noun-a-day auction. The closest thing to flooor that already exists, which makes it the natural first neighbour.
3. MAYC: the first Yuga-scale listing — a Mutant floor that prints daily instead of on whatever a marketplace feels like showing.
4. BAYC: 10,000 Apes, the floor the whole market quotes. Setting it once a day by auction rather than by the cheapest listing is the point.
5. CryptoPunks: the oldest floor onchain and the hardest to earn. If Punks run a flooor, the model is proven.

Why market cap instead of dates?

Because a date is a guess and a market cap is a fact. The work to the right of Cobalt only makes sense with the holders, volume and vault that a larger protocol brings — permissionless listing needs collections that want in, multi-chain needs a treasury that can carry more than one deployment.

So the columns are ordered but not scheduled. $5M could arrive before Cobalt ships, or long after. The map says what happens at each level, not when the level arrives.

Why "strawmap"?

A portmanteau of "strawman" and "roadmap". The strawman qualifier is deliberate:

It is a discussion starter. Publishing a shape people can argue with beats publishing nothing.
It is a work in progress. Scope moves between releases, and items get dropped when they turn out not to matter.

The strawmap is not a prediction. It is one coherent path among many.

What is the tasks column?

The one band anyone can act on today. North stars are what the protocol owes you; tasks are what you can do without waiting for a release — bring signers, hold a streak, sponsor a day, bring a collection, bid across every clock. Each one carries what it earns.

The current list is a draft, and the rewards are not live yet. If a task is worth doing but isn't up there, say so and it goes up.

Will it change?

Yes. Expect a revision at least every quarter, with the date noted in the legend at the bottom of the map.
